Meet Katie.

After a 15yr career in corporate leadership, I left to focus on supporting people and workplaces to feel a sense of ease and belonging. I use Empathy as my tool in workplaces and Self-Compassion as my tool outside the workplace.

In my ‘Being Human Well for Me’ offerings I use primarily meditation practices to support you to find ease and a sense of belonging in yourself; how to feel and be human. I run retreats, courses and online offerings, including 1:1 and group options. I primarily work alone and often introduce my own sound healing elements to sessions, but I also partner with carefully selected humans and brands who I invite to some of my retreats and events. They will be listed on any event descriptions so you are aware.

I always knew I wanted to support others, so to be doing this now is a dream come true. My way of being has been passed down from generations of ancestors and I have roots in many parts of the world. My upbringing has been filled with the wonders of African spirituality, Western learning and deep love for Eastern practices. I enjoy a blended approach to how and what I guide and teach.

”I have thoroughly enjoyed each session and it has opened my eyes to the stillness we all need to live a fulfilled life on many different levels. I would highly recommend Katie not only as a wonderful person but also a wonderful teacher too.”

"I did Katie's 1:1 Meditation 4-part course. . She is delightful to be around; kind, interested and enthusiastic. Her training was thorough and she was very patient. I really enjoyed it! Thanks Katie!!”

I hold a BSc in Psychology and MSc in Occupational Psychology.

I’m a certified meditation teacher and trained under the incredible scholars in Deepak Chopra’s program (Vedic Primordial Sound Meditation : a silent mantra based meditation practice rooted in transcendental meditation). I teach this and many other practices such as self-inquiry, visualisation, metta, mindfulness and many more. I trained with the Dalai Lama in India and am also one of the meditation experts featured on Fearne Cotton’s Happy Place Wellness app and festivals.

Overall, I’m not attached to any particular training or perspective. I am open and here for it all in equal measures and with equal respect. Everyone regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation and age are safe with me.

Benefits of Meditation

Focus

Meditation enables your mind to access deeper, calmer, more powerful and intuitive levels of thinking. This practice expands consciousness and infuses the mind with creativity and innovation, bringing improvements in all aspects of mental performance and perception.

Productivity

Vedic Meditation increases memory and learning ability and enables alertness, responding vs reacting and supports emotional stability and workplace effectiveness. All of this starts with our brains, so it makes complete sense that looking after our brains and our thoughts, we find success.

Joy

Meditation gives you a sense of happiness and joy. You feel clearer, fresher and calmer. All of this is a route to your awareness of happiness and inner contentment which helps you to see more clearly and respond to life’s demands with ease.

avoid Burnout

Burnout was one of the key reasons I started meditation. It served as a tool to move away from a sense of chronic stress by reducing resting heart rate, relaxing muscles and cultivating a calmer mental state.

Burnout is the build up of regular stress that impacts the nervous system. In this state your body and mind operate from a place of fear (in the sympathetic state), ready for fight or flight. Meditation helps you to reach the parasympathetic state, fostering a calmer and more composed state. When you meditate, you are able to induce this deeper level of rest on demand, whenever needed without guidance or apps for example.

As our practice deepens, you will experience improved energy levels and develop improved relationships with those around us and in the workplace. You will also notice confidence in yourself and the ability to show empathy to others.

Symptoms of burnout can include fatigue, sleep issues, depression, a sense of failure and increased reliance on unhealthy coping mechanisms.

stress Reduction

Vedic meditation practices are easy and much more efficient at reducing stress levels than some other forms of meditation. People tend to come to these practices if others have not worked, or if they are seeking a deeper and more personal practice.

Vedic meditation draws us to a deep state of rest. In this restful state, and with consistent practice, we are able to wash away stress from the past and present. In addition, we become more resilient to stress and recover from stressful events faster.

You are also able to reduce anxiety and fear as the practice allows our nervous system to experience calmness & a clear perspective.

better Sleep

Our quality and quantity of sleep improves due to the positive impact meditation has on our nervous system. The clearance f stress and external stimulation helps you to fall asleep more easily.
